The first annual Scottish Surfing Federation Fundraiser ‘Crave the Caves 2007’ in association with Puro Nectar was a roaring success. Held on a chilly Saturday night in November, some of the city’s top bands and DJs played to a crowd of over 300 at a unique venue in the centre of Edinburgh.

Comps: THE GATHERING OF THE CLANS 2007

The third annual Gathering of the Clans team surfing contest was held at Philorth beach on Saturday the 13th of October in perfect wave and weather conditions. The event is Scotland’s biggest amateur surf contest and for the first time the Fraserburgh team took the overall win. Prizes were provided by sponsors O’Neill and Reef and almost 50 competitors took part on the day. Defending champions Thurso didn’t send a team to defend their title and Aberdeen were also absent this time round which allowed the contest to be completed comfortably in one day.

Scottish Surfing Championships 2007 review by Euan Bruce
IainL writes "The Scottish Surfing Championships 2007 was successfully held this weekend at Brimms Ness in Thurso.

Perfectly barrelling 3-4ft waves, offshore winds and 18 degree sunshine greeted the competitors on Saturday morning. This was not going to be an average April day in Caithness: surfers would be trying to avoid sunburn rather than pneumonia.
